For as many years as I can remember, I start getting an insatiable craving for fresh vegetables, salads, and anything green somewhere around the first or second week of January and it carries through until the snow melts and things start blooming again around our home. Middle Eastern food is my go-to in these months of greenery craving because it is so packed with greens and freshness and herbs and garlic; all of those things are abundantly present in this cuisine. My quick-meal, go-to, happy-place food this time of year is Fattoush.
Big Boy Garlic And Oil Salad Dressing Recipel
This is a fantastic recipe. I used Romas fresh from my garden. The garlic and basil were also from my garden. A simple yet very flavorful recipe. Loved the addition of the infused olive oil. Perfect with a salad and crusty bread. Definitely a keeper.
With just the right hint of lemon and garlic, this Greek dressing comes together in 5 minutes in a mason jar (if you have one) or any container with a lid. It will truly leave you craving more salad!!
I use this Greek salad dressing recipe 99.9% of times on any dish that I want to add Greek flavor. It has the perfect balance of lemon, garlic, and oregano. It stores really well in the refrigerator for up to one week.
*the garlic flavor gets stronger the longer the dressing sits, so if serving the dressing immediately, you can add minced or pressed garlic, otherwise, smashed garlic works great here as it gradually flavors the dressing
I have been making a very similar recipe for years, and everyone loves it. Difference is 2 Tbsp. Chopped Parsley, only 1 Tbsp. Lemon Juice, and no garlic. My question is, where did you find the cute little dressing container? I usually just make enough to pour over my Greek Salad, but would be nice to have extra on the table in such a nice container. Thanks!
Have read about the health benefits of garlic and as my husband has a chest infection I wanted to make sure he boosts his immunity. I tried your recipe and it is the best dressing ever. Thank you so much.
Italian dressing made with raw apple cider vinegar (with the mother) and unfiltered cold pressed (imported from Italy made from organic Italian olives) olive oil, a little water, freshly chopped garlic, minced dried onion, fresh ginger root grated, one bay leaf, Italian seasoning. Shake well, the unfiltered olive oil and raw vinegar (particularly with the mother) will stay blended longer than cooked (dead) cider vinegar and processed oils, so will be blended evenly when pouring, this stuff lasts for a very long time in the cupboard (in glass, i use red-wine vinegar bottles, dump the red-wine vinegar out and wash the bottle). Very healthy salad dressing, good for weight control and many many health issues.
I was searching an apple cider dressing for my sprouted bean salad so I can incorporate more whole foods into my diet and came across this recipe. I have to say this is was sooo yummy. Definitely will be making it often! Thank you for sharing!
I try to make my own homemade salad dressing whenever possible, but when I'm short on time and buy a bottle from the store, I typically reach for a brand called Brianna's. This isn't an ad...I just like it because it tastes fresh and has pretty straightforward ingredients. Occasionally, Brianna's comes out with a new flavor, and one that we tried recently and really enjoyed is called Zesty French Dressing. It's simultaneously tangy and sweet, reminiscent of traditional French Dressing but better. So of course I had to try to recreate it myself at home. ?
Both of these dressings would be yummy on a simple dinner salad, but we particularly enjoy them on taco salad or any salad with Tex-Mex flavors. After all, sweet, zesty dressing is a delicious complement to certain types of ingredients, including taco seasoned meat, tomatoes, cheese, tortilla chips, and cool, creamy avocado.
Each of the 8 dressing options provided is fantastic to use on a low carb diet. Italian and French dressings are great for salads with plenty of ingredients, whereas Blue cheese and Caesar dressing will work with mixed greens.
Flavorful, easy sesame ginger dressing recipe made with simple ingredients. This healthy homemade dressing is sweet & savory, vegan and perfect for adding to veggie packed salads or using as a marinade.
This easy ginger dressing is officially my new favorite chicken marinade, salad dressing and even a delicious stir fry sauce. I came up with it one night after marinating chicken thighs for grilling, and then the next day I made it again and threw it in an upcoming brussels salad recipe.
This is the BEST Asian salad I have ever had or made.Made this for dinner and LOVED it. Best EVER!This dressing will be always on hand for my salads.I would give this ten stars if I could.
First off, thanks Gina for your wonderful recipes that I and my family have been enjoying now for more than a year! I tried this recipe today on a bed of mixed greens with red bell pepper, cucumber, avocado, kalamata olives, and crumbled goat cheese. It was soooo good! I switched out the fresh tomato, with sun-dried because I had some to get rid of, and had to cut back on the vinegar and mustard because of this. I think it would also be delicious as a chicken marinade, pasta salad dressing, tossed with grilled shrimp, or a sandwich spread. I can't wait to try this in the summer with garden fresh tomatoes!
This dressing is out-of-this-world! It definitely lived up to its sunny title. The addition of Greek yogurt is inspired. I used 1 tbsp white wine vinegar, which was more than acidic enough for me when coupled with the fresh lemon juice. I also added 1 tbsp dry white wine to thin. Remarkable on spinach salad and grilled chicken. This would work on pita pockets, tuna salad, anything! A new favourite, for sure.
I do not usually leave comments BUT I love using FF greek yogurt when possible, love to make my own dressings and this one was outstanding. My salad was better than any restaurant salad. Thank you for sharing!
As filler ingredients: This catch-all category is the trickiest to spot. Generally, the more processed and artificial a salad dressing is, the more likely that it will contain a sneaky gluten filler. Check the ingredients list for these vague, red-flag words: flavorings, artificial flavorings, natural flavorings, artificial color, Dextrin and spice blend.
These dressings all sound amazing! I am now looking forward to salad for dinner. I will stop and grab all the ingredients for each of these tasty dressings. You make salad something to look forward to!!! Thank you!!!!
Please tell me how much lemon juice in the Caesar dressing: 1/4 cup hummus either homemade or store-bought (or use about 1/3 cup cannellini beans) 1/4 fresh lemon juice 2 tablespoon nutritional yeast 1 1/2 teaspoons Worchestershire sauce 2 large cloves garlic, minced 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard 2 teaspoons maple syrup

Mussels on the barbie are my absolute favourite. In summer (which it most definitely is not right now here in Perth Australia) we grill mussels over the bbq flame until they open and then toss them through a dressing of lots (and lots) of freshly chopped garlic and parsley, olive oil and lemon juice. You need to be careful not to spill the juice in the mussels as you lift them into the bowl, because it mixes in with the dressing and you have a lovely salty, lemony, garlicky sauce to mop up with crusty bread. Absolutely finger licking good!
As for our favourite on-the-grill meal as of late: marinated chicken kabobs with red peppers and pineapple, grilled corn salad (grill corn on the cob, add diced tomato and avocado, toss with honey-like dressing), with a side of hummus and flatbread. Enjoy grilling :)
Shallots have a mild, sweet onion flavor and work well in balsamic dressing. If I have a small shallot in the pantry, I'll mince it up and add it to my dressing. It adds a nice little crunch to the salad as well.
I really enjoyed your recipe!! I really like that it did not have any added sugar. I did not have time to go to the grocery store and wanted to find a balsamic vinaigrette dressing that I had all the ingredients for already. I used yellow mustard instead of the kind you had listed. It was still really delicious! I served it on roasted beet and goat cheese salad with walnuts and red onion. Everyone loved it! Thank you for your wonderful recipe!
5 stars from me! This is such a great recipe I have it posted on the side of my fridge all the time, I love it for many reasons. It is a good dip for chicken tenders, great dressing for green salads and it is great to serve as a dip with roasted sweet potatoes. This is a true winner, thank so much for posting it!! For those who love honey mustard dips for chicken and salad dressings you will especially like this one I predict. I usually double the recipe and keep extra in the fridge because I use it all the time.
I use bow tie or small shell pasta, and good seasons zesty dry dressing. Follow directions for the oil and vinegar. Heinz apple cider vinegar and Wesson canola oil are the best. Also, I save some dressing for later when so much has been absorbed. Favorite salad any time of year. 2ff7e9595c
