Unfortunately none of these things worked and we spent at least an hour doing the above troubleshooting steps. We were running out of options. We finally ran into this Dell post on their website which recommended we install Dell Webcam Central which is an application that does a few extra things with the webcam like take pics and video. But it has nothing to do with the actual driver used by Windows.
Since we tried everything else we gave it a shot. Sure enough after the install of the Dell webcam software and a reboot, Zoom, Skype, and the Windows Camera application finally showed us a video image! Why on Earth did this ancient webcam software fix the problem? We have no idea. But we know there was no official driver for Windows 10 and this user upgraded from Windows 7 a while ago. They probably never noticed since they never used their webcam before. Stay healthy out there and if you need IT support or computer virus removal give us a call at Boxaid.
Dell Webcam Driver Windows 10
Why everyone is repeating the same. Please read my description. I did try that Diagnosis and the webcam was not detected anywhere to be tested. Also, I did update my BIOS. As you told, I have uninstalled the driver now and am downloading some webcam monitor from dell. ( )
I am having a similar problem on my Latitude laptop - upgraded to windows 10 and when I went to Skype the webcam is not detected. In the device manager it has a yellow triangle next to it. I tried uninstalling the device and restarting - no goo. Would you believe that on Friday Dell remote support could not take control of my laptop to investigate because DellConnect was not working!
I have an issue since upgrading to Windows 10 2004 my Inspiron 2330 no longer detects the webcam. I've searched for hours looking for a driver or software package for this but to no avail. The device does not show up in device manager all the time but I was able to uninstall and allow Windows to search for it but it does not reinstall. When using an application to access the webcam the USB camera shows up but not the integrated camera. Anyone possibly have access to repository of drivers or can provide some insight on this would be appreciated? There are no drivers listed for the webcam for this device on support.dell.com and the driver utility did not find any either.
But why is a built-in webcam not detected on a Windows 10 PC? There are various reasons why this happens. The main cause is usually incompatible, outdated, or corrupt driver software. It could also be that the webcam is disabled in Device Manager, the Settings app, or BIOS or UEFI.
Therefore, to try and get your integrated webcam working again, you have to visit the official website of your device manufacturer and download the latest driver package to get your device drivers up to date.
Has anyone had any luck with Windows 10 on their Alienware 14 and the integrated webcam? It keeps showing up under "Other Devices" in Device Manager and I cannot, for the life of me, find a driver for it?
I have a 2014 Alienware 18 and I am experiencing the same issues. No Web Cam - driver listed as unknown and I can't delete the entry from within device manager. I upgraded from Win7 to 10. In the old \system32 there is a driver USBvideo which was not installed for Win10. I located the driver and attempted to install via a driver install utility which also failed reporting the driver as not compatible. I suspect Dell's webcam and maybe the bluetooth drivers need an update. Let's hope Dell releases updated USBVideo drivers ASAP and an install util to go with. this appears to be a Dell issue
As for the software, the Dell Webcam Central is an old software that is used an alternate option to try and get the webcam running incase of any issues. It is known to have fixed many webcam related issues. Until Win 7, the webcam central and a separate driver was required for the webcam to be functional. However, W8 onwards, the driver was not required as the windows native driver was sufficient for the webcam to work.
You would only use the win.old files on your computer that you saved to restore windows 7 on back on your computer. The Webcam Central Software is no longer needed in Windows 10. There is software and drivers for the Webcam built into Windows 10.
If your camera is not working on your computer, you can go to Device Manager to reinstall or update the webcam driver to fix the issue. Normally, you can find the webcam drive under Imaging devices in Device Manager. But if webcam not showing up in Device Manager or webcam is not detected on your computer, do you know how to get it back? We collect some useful methods and show them in this post.
If after Windows 10 update or upgrade your integrated webcam is not working then the issue might be caused by corrupt, outdated, or incompatible webcam drivers. The integrated webcam is necessary for users who do business meeting using video conferencing or users who do Skype video calls to their family. Now you know how important the integrated webcam is to users; therefore, this issue should be fixed as soon as possible.

I read your quick reply. I looked up the Hp support site for drivers for windows 10. It looks like currently it is not listed. It includes the bios. Please wait for some time. It might be added. Link for drivers: -en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-ultrabook-4-1100/5296027/model/5311090
I just uploaded my true vision driver for windows 10 and after testing the driver seems to be working, but I get an error that the camera cannot be detected. The problem could be with the antivirus software or that the camera is not working properly. I am on a envy hp laptop. What can I do to resolve? Thanks 2ff7e9595c
